Description
Punch – Avermectin Insecticide and Miticide for Crop Protection
Punch Avermectin Insecticide is an agricultural crop protection product formulated to control susceptible insect and mite pests. It contains a mixture of avermectins consisting of approximately 80% avermectin B1a and 20% avermectin B1b. This combination provides effective activity against target pests when used according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Insect and mite infestations can cause serious damage to crops by feeding on leaves, stems, flowers, and other plant parts. Heavy infestations may reduce plant vigour, affect photosynthesis, damage developing crops, and contribute to lower yield and market quality. Effective pest management is therefore essential for protecting crop productivity.
How Punch Avermectin Works
Punch works through the activity of its avermectin components on the nervous system of susceptible insects and mites. Following exposure, the product causes rapid paralysis in target pests, which is followed by their death.
This mode of action makes Punch a valuable option in integrated pest management programmes where insect and mite pressure requires effective intervention.
Controls Susceptible Insect and Mite Pests
Punch is designed for the control of susceptible agricultural pests, particularly:
- Agricultural insect pests
- Mite pests
Mites and insect pests can reproduce quickly under favourable conditions. Regular crop monitoring can help farmers identify pest problems early and apply suitable control measures at the appropriate time.
For the best results, farmers should apply Punch according to the approved crop, target pest, application rate, and timing stated on the product label.

Best Practices for Effective Pest Control
Effective pest control begins with regular field scouting. Check crops frequently for signs of insect feeding, mite damage, leaf discolouration, curling, webbing, or increasing pest populations.
Avoid repeated misuse of products with the same mode of action. Where appropriate, rotate insecticides with different approved modes of action to support resistance-management programmes.
Always use the correct protective equipment and follow all label directions regarding mixing, application, approved crops, target pests, re-entry requirements, pre-harvest intervals, and safe storage.
