Description

Dexarain Dexamethasone – Veterinary Anti-Inflammatory Treatment

Dexarain contains Dexamethasone, a synthetic glucocorticosteroid used in veterinary medicine to help manage inflammatory and allergic conditions in several animal species. It is indicated for horses, cattle, goats, pigs, dogs, and cats, providing corticosteroid support where reduction of inflammation or control of allergic reactions is required.

Inflammation is a natural response to injury, disease, or irritation, but excessive inflammatory reactions can cause pain, swelling, discomfort, and impaired normal function. Appropriate corticosteroid therapy can help control these responses when prescribed by a veterinarian.

Helps Manage Inflammation and Allergic Reactions

Dexarain Dexamethasone is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and allergic reactions in the listed animal species. By helping regulate excessive inflammatory responses, dexamethasone can support the management of conditions where corticosteroid therapy is considered appropriate.

Because corticosteroids can affect several physiological processes, proper veterinary assessment is important before treatment.

For Horses

In horses, Dexarain is indicated for conditions including:

  • Arthritis
  • Bursitis
  • Tenosynovitis

These inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions can affect movement, comfort, and performance. Veterinary-directed corticosteroid treatment can help manage inflammation associated with these conditions.

For Cattle and Goats

Dexarain is also indicated for the treatment of primary ketosis (acetonemia) in cattle and goats. Ketosis is a metabolic condition associated with negative energy balance and can affect appetite, productivity, and general animal condition.

In cattle, dexamethasone may also be used to induce parturition when medically indicated and under appropriate veterinary supervision.

Veterinary Use and Precautions

Dexamethasone is a potent corticosteroid and should be used carefully and only according to the manufacturer’s instructions and veterinary recommendations. The appropriate dose and duration depend on the animal species, condition, severity of disease, and treatment objective.

Veterinarians should also consider contraindications, interactions, pregnancy status, and other relevant clinical factors before treatment. For food-producing animals, observe all applicable withdrawal periods.
