Description
Amoxytom – Amoxicillin and Colistin Antibiotic for Poultry and Livestock
Amoxytom is a combination veterinary antibiotic containing Amoxicillin Trihydrate and Colistin Sulphate. It is formulated to support the treatment of bacterial infections in poultry and livestock caused by microorganisms susceptible to these active ingredients.
Bacterial infections can affect the respiratory, digestive, and other body systems, leading to poor appetite, reduced growth, reduced productivity, increased mortality, and economic losses. Amoxytom Amoxicillin and Colistin provides broad antibacterial support for several important infections encountered in commercial poultry and livestock production.
Broad Support for Susceptible Bacterial Infections
Amoxytom is indicated for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial diseases, including:
- Salmonellosis
- Colibacillosis
- Clostridial infections
- Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD)
- Omphalitis
- Yolk sac infection
- Sinusitis
- Coryza
- Air sacculitis
- Pasteurellosis
- Mycoplasmosis
- Leptospirosis
It is also indicated in cases of enteritis, septicaemia, generalized bacterial infections, and secondary bacterial infections where the causative organisms are susceptible.
Supports Respiratory Health
Respiratory infections such as CRD, coryza, sinusitis, air sacculitis, pasteurellosis, and mycoplasmosis can reduce feed intake and growth while affecting the overall performance of poultry and livestock.
Amoxytom provides antibiotic support for susceptible bacterial infections affecting the respiratory system. Proper diagnosis remains important because some respiratory diseases may have viral, environmental, or management-related causes.
Supports Digestive and Systemic Infection Management
Amoxytom is also indicated for digestive and systemic bacterial diseases, including Salmonellosis, Colibacillosis, Clostridial infections, and enteritis. These conditions can cause diarrhoea, poor nutrient absorption, dehydration, weakness, and reduced productivity.
The product may also be used for septicaemia and generalized bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
Support During Stressful Periods
Stress can affect animal performance and increase susceptibility to disease. Amoxytom may be useful as part of a veterinary health programme during stressful conditions associated with:
- Vaccination
- Debeaking
- Transportation
- Rehousing
- Changes in feed
- Weather changes
Good management, proper nutrition, clean water, and strong farm biosecurity should always accompany disease prevention programmes.
Key Benefits
- Combines Amoxicillin Trihydrate and Colistin Sulphate
- Broad-spectrum antibacterial support
- Helps manage susceptible respiratory infections
- Supports treatment of Salmonellosis and Colibacillosis
- Indicated for CRD and air sacculitis
- Supports management of enteritis
- Helps manage omphalitis and yolk sac infection
- Indicated for secondary bacterial infections
- Supports management of septicaemia
- Useful during periods of increased disease and stress challenges
Responsible Antibiotic Use
Amoxytom should only be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions and veterinary recommendations. Accurate diagnosis is important, as antibiotics are not effective against viral diseases unless a susceptible secondary bacterial infection is present.
Always follow the recommended dosage, treatment duration, administration method, safety precautions, and applicable withdrawal periods for food-producing animals. Responsible antibiotic use helps support effective treatment and reduce the risk of antimicrobial resistance.
Why Choose Amoxytom?
Amoxytom Amoxicillin and Colistin combines two antibacterial agents to provide broad support against susceptible bacterial infections affecting poultry and livestock. Its wide range of listed indications makes it a valuable option for professionally managed animal health programmes where appropriate veterinary diagnosis and responsible antibiotic use are observed.
