Veterinary Overview:
Nitronor is a potent antiparasitic formulation containing Nitroxynil, a halogenated phenol with proven efficacy against a wide range of internal parasites. This veterinary solution is especially effective against liver fluke infestations and gastrointestinal nematodes in cattle, sheep, goats, and camels.

Indication:
Liver fluke infestations caused by Fasciola hepatica and F. Gigatica, gastrointestinal parasitism caused by Haemonchus plucei, Oesophagostomum radiatum, and Bunostomum in cattle, sheep and goats, oestrus in sheep and camels.
Recommended for routine fluke and worm control programs, especially in fluke-endemic zones. Nitronor is suitable for use in ruminants grazing on fluke-infested pastures or exposed to contaminated water sources.
Dosage and administration:
The standard dosage is 10 mg nitroxynil per kg live body weight (=1.5ml of Nitronor 34%/ 50 kg live body weight) by subcutaneous only.
Withdrawal:
- Cattle, goats and camels treated for liver fluke and roundworms should not be slaughtered for human consumption within 60 days of treatment.
- At the double dose for parafilaria, animals should not be slaughtered within 70 days of treatment.
- Sheep treated should not be slaughtered for human consumption within 45 days of treatment.
Milk: 5 days
Dose only cows on dry period.
N.B Contra-indications:
Do not use in animals lactation if milk is intended for human consumption.
