General information:

GuardForce herbicide is a selective systemic post-emergence agricultural herbicide absorbed by foliage and roots, with rapid translocation in xylem and phloem to the meristematic tissues. Some rotational crops such as soybeans and cowpea can be replanted at intervals as short as 15 days.

Principal uses:

GuardForce is selective systemic post-emergence control in maize of annual grass weeds, including Setaria, Echinochloa, Digitaria, Panicum, Lolium, and Avena spp., broad-leaved weeds including Amaranthus spp. and Cruciferae, and perennials such as Sorghum halepense and Agropyron repens.

Directions of use:

Calibrate the sprayer before use. Half-fill the sprayer with clean water and add the recommended quantity of GuardForce® Agitate during the completion of filling then destroy the container. If GuardForce remains in the container, replace the cap tightly after use.

Maize

Control of annual grasses: Annual grasses can be controlled with 1L/ha applied when the grasses are 2 leaves – early tillering and the maize is at the 2-8 leaf stage.

Control of broad-leaved weeds:

Broad-leaved weeds can be controlled with 1-1.5L/ ha applied when the grasses are 2-6 true leaves and the maize is at the 2-8 leaf stage.

 

 

The volume of clean water to cover on ha is 200 liters

For best results, apply GuardForce® early post-emergence when maize and weeds are young and actively growing. For best overall performance apply GuardForce to maize that is less than 30 cm tall.

Compatibility: GuardForce herbicide is incompatible with alkaline materials To avoid crop injury or antagonism, apply the products indicated below at least seven days before or three days after the application of GuardForce’.

-For improved grass and broad-leaved weed control, GuardForce herbicide can be tank mixed with AtraForce and applied to emerged maize before the maize reaches 30 cm tall.

-Do not mix GuardForce herbicide with 2,4D containing products such as AminoForce as severe grass control antagonism may occur.

-Do not mix GuardForce with foliar-applied organophosphate agricultural insecticides as severe crop injury may occur.

Protective precautions:

Avoid contact with eyes, skin, clothing, and breathing vapors. Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles. Do not drink, eat or smoke tobacco during application. Wash the used equipment and bathe after application. First aid: If contaminated with skin or clothing, take off contaminated clothes and rinse the skin with plenty of water. If inhaled, move the person to fresh air. If the person is not breathing, give artificial respiration. If swallowed, induce vomiting and drink enough water. Seek medical attention.

Handling and storage cautions: Do not store near food, feed, or drinking water. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area below 30°C.

Disposal of the pesticides’ empty containers: Wastes should be disposed off in a landfill approved for pesticide disposal or according to the local rules.
