Description
INDICATIONS:
Flumcol 20% wsp is a water soluble powder combination of flumequine and colistin. Flumcol 20% wsp is indicated for the prevention and treatment of infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, such as fowl typhoid, Pullorum disease, infectious Coryza, infections caused by E. Coli, fowl cholera, and respiratory infections in poultry. Flumcol 20% wsp is also indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections in calves, lambs, kids, and pigs.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Do not administer to animals hypersensitive to polymyxins. Do not administer to animals with severely impaired liver or renal function. Do not administer to animals with an active rumen and intestinal microbial flora. Do not use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Long-term treatment may result in hypersensitivity to flumequine.
INCOMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DRUGS:
Do not combine treatment with trimethoprim, sulphonamides, furazolidone, phenylbutazone, and hydrocortisone, it may accelerate the excretion of flumequine. Do not combine treatment with nitrofuran derivatives (antagonism), phenicoles, rifampicin, or neuro-muscular agents.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For oral administration via drinking water.
Poultry: 125-250 grams per 1,000 litres of drinking water
Calves: 5 g per 100 kg bodyweight, twice daily, during 3-5 days.
Lambs, kids: 3,75 g per 100 kg bodyweight, twice daily, during 3-5 days
Pigs: 5 g per 100 kg bodyweight, twice daily during 3-7 days
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat: 3 days
STORAGE:
Store in a dry, dark place between 2 °C and 25 °C.
Store in a closed packing.
Keep medicine away from children.
