Description

INDICATIONS

D.Colinorx is particularly indicated for the treatment of diseases of Gastrointestinal and expiratory infections caused by micro-organisms sensitive to doxycycline and colistin in combination with Ambroxol as mucolytic agent Caused by Gram-positive and gram – bacteria such as Colibacillosis, salmonellosis, Infectious Coryza, Air Saculitis, Infectious synovitis, Clostridial dermatitis, Necrotic enteritis, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, and Rickettsia.

PHARMACOLOGICAL

D.Colinor Extra is a combination of two antibiotics and an expectorant.

Doxycycline: It belongs to the group of tetracyclines and acts bacteriostatic against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria like Bordetella, Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus spp. Doxycycline is also active against Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, and Ricketta spp. The action of doxycycline is based on the inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis. Doxycycline has a good affinity towards the lungs and is therefore specially useful for the treatment of bacterial respiratory infections.

Colistin: It is an antibiotic from the group of polymyxins with biocidal action against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like aerobic bacteria, E4446mophilus, and Salmonella spp. Polymyxins interact strongly with spholipids and penetrate into and disrupt the structure of cell membranes. Administered orally, colistin is poorly resorbed and, therefore, performs its action predominantly gastrointestinally.

Ambroxol hydrochloride:

It is a mucolytic expectorant that removes excess mucous in the respiratory tract and restores the physiological clearance mechanisms of the respiratory passage.
